Mealime closes October 21, 2026

Mealime is closing. Bring your meals here.

Mealime's closing notice says the app will be discontinued as of October 21, 2026, and that all personal data will be deleted when it shuts down. What's In My Pantry is a free place to keep cooking the meals you like, with a meal plan, a shopping list and your recipes.

The weekly plan: an unscheduled meal plus meals for Friday and Saturday, each showing missing ingredients, with an Add missing to list button.

And what you get that Mealime didn't do

  • A pantry

Keep track of what's in your kitchen: type it, say it out loud or scan a barcode.

  • Cook Tonight

Recipes ranked by what's about to expire and how few ingredients you're missing.

  • Expiry dates

Every item gets a sensible date you can change, and a freezer that remembers.

  • Household sharing

One pantry, list and plan for everyone you live with, each on their own login.

Shopping and recipes

Your list and your recipes, side by side

The shopping list labels every item with the recipe it's for. Recipes show what you already have and exactly what you'd still need.

The shopping list: items like Balsamic Vinegar and Chicken Stock, each labeled with the recipe that needs it.
Cook Tonight on a narrow screen: expiring items listed in red and amber, and a recipe card for Potato Gratin with Chicken.

How to save your Mealime recipes

We couldn't find a way to export your data in Mealime's closing notice or help center, so it's worth copying what you want to keep now. Start with the 10 or 20 meals you actually cook.

  1. Copy each recipe's link. In the Mealime iPhone app, open a recipe, tap the More button, then the share icon (that's how Mealime's help center describes it). Copy the link and paste it into a note. Mealime's own recipes have public pages at mealime.com/recipes/โ€ฆ, and our importer reads those.
  2. Copy your grocery list. Mealime's help center says you can print the grocery list from the iPhone app or the web app, including as a PDF. You can also just type or copy the items into a note.
  3. Screenshot anything else. Recipes you typed into Mealime yourself, your notes, this week's plan. Our Scan a recipe card reads printed and on-screen text from a photo or screenshot so you can check it and save it as one of your recipes.
  4. Bring it over. Sign up, then paste the links and your grocery list into the importer. Each link becomes a favorite with its ingredients; the list goes onto Shopping.

We've checked that public Mealime recipe pages import today. We can't promise they'll stay online after Mealime closes, so import them before the 21st.
